As May and June approach with the long awaited phased relaxation of the lockdown rules coming in each of these months, we must prepare for being seen out in public again!
Many of us will have gained a few pounds (stones?) over the lockdown period through a combination of overeating and inactivity. Clothes will be tight. This didn't matter when we were only having to be seen from the waste up on Zoom, Teams, Skype etc. but now we will be gradually returning to physical meetings.
Apart from the aesthetically imperative there will be the wholesale return to gyms, swimming pools, classes, etc. We will all be tempted to try to make up for lost time by going straight back to the regimes we were adhering to prior to lockdown. This runs the very real risk of injuries as we subject our bodies to forces they have been unused to for the last year.
The solution? Pilates, of course.
There are still 5 weeks until restrictions on indoor exercises are lifted. That is plenty of time to ease your way back in by cramming in some quality Pilates and stretching sessions with Hands Flat.
It's easy, it's accessible and it's inexpensive, so why not?
